Eli Loria is a lawyer with vast experience in the Capital Market.

Eli was active in the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) from 1978 to 2011. He worked as a Regional Superintendent in São Paulo and Company Relations Superintendent, from 1993 to 1995, responsible for the registration area for publicly-held companies and other issuers, as well as for updating information related to the companies, corporate reorganizations, and registration of public distribution of securities.

He served as a CVM commissioner twice, in 2004 and from 2007 to 2011, operating in trials related to enforcement proceedings, appeals against decisions in operation areas and drafting of rules.

Eli has also represented CVM before the National Financial System Appeal Council, the National Private Insurance Council, the Supplementary Pension Management Council, and the Appeals Chamber.

He wrote the book “Enforcement Proceeding and Capital Market – Case Study and Trends – CVM trials” (“Processo Sancionador e Mercado de Capitais – Estudo de Casos e Tendências – Julgamentos da CVM”) Vol I and II.

He graduated in Public Administration at Fundação Getúlio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro, in 1976, and obtained his postgraduate degree in Administration from COPPEAD, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ, in 1981. He is a Master and Doctor of Commercial Law (Universidade de São Paulo – USP).
